Hi

can you advise whther the Siblu site is the same as the Airotel one, I think it is but Siblu dont appear to take tourers but it looks like I can get on the site through Airotel.

Any advice and reviews welcome, it also looks like a brand new auqatic bit being added.

Hi

As far as I know, Siblu is a tour operator with their own statics on sites, and so it isn't suitable for folk with their own outfit.

Several threads on the Le Vieux Port already - do a search.

TT.

La Vieux Port is a site at Messanges, and on site are various tour operators - Eurocamp, Keycamp, and others, including Siblu, who all have ready-erected tents and mobile homes which they offer for rent.

However, you can book directly with the site through their own website:  http://www.levieuxport.com/fra5.html - I've added this without going through the Campsite Search facility on here, as some web links take you straight back to Siblu and can be confusing for those wanting to take their own equipment.  It has a good website in English, and reservation should be fairly easy.

It seems at Siblu owns some sites but La Vieux Port is not one of them but is what they call a Siblu Selection Parc which I assume means they organise holidays on that site. Airotel seems to be an umbrella organisation for the promotion of independent campsites and La Vieux Port is one of them.

We stayed at Vieux Port back in June 1999, when the boys were very small. We had a Keycamp static; it was brand new, we were the first to use it - fantastic. We loved the direct access to the beach, and the pool area was great fun too. (Btw, the new aquatic centre looks amazing!) As it was low season the site was perfect for us and we had a brilliant time.

We returned for a wander round in August 2007 (we were staying in Biscarrosse and fancied a trip down memory lane). The site was much the same, although there were many more chalets and statics than I remembered. The site was full, but didn't seem over-busy. Some of the pitches were quite small, I'd advise you to ask for a site plan and select your pitch accordingly. The facilities were well maintained. The on-site supermarket offers a wide choice and wasn't too pricey. There are lots of campsites in this area. Hope you have a great time if you decide to go.
