hi all... going there in may, and was wondering if anybody know's what the carp fishing is like in the big lake.{not the boating lake].

Hello

 Stayed there a couple of years ago for a couple of nights and the fishing was awesome. Setting up the second rod as the first one was pulled in by a 10lb carp.Saw people getting towed around the lake by huge fish.Have a big net. Had to help a Dutch boy unhook a three foot long grey fish with a funny nose.

The new lake has some decent fish in there, plenty of Sturgeon caught close in on any meat bait. I am sure there was a +30lb Carp caught last summer between the two islands. I always fish the boating lake and had some good results, last summer had 2 Grassies up to 29lb. All the Carp take boilies but dont over do the loose stuff as there are a fair few pasties and Bream in both lakes.

hi night shift.. we were there last august, {with out my carp gear} saw alot of fish caught from the boat lake, some one had a 29lb common one guy had a 35lb mirror and dropped it???. we have a pitch on the new lake for this may will be there on the 24th for 6 nights, so hopefully bivved up for four or five of those.
