Thinking of staying at this site in Sarlat (Dordogne) this summer: i can't seem to find any user reviews outlining their views. I've read it's on a hill, although as a 30 year old with a small child (12months in July) I don't really see this as a problem - nonetheless I would appreciate some views.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Thanks for the warm welcome!! We've just purchased our first caravan (my wife and I are both teachers) and are looking forward to many weeks away. The plan is to visit the Cotswold in easter and then to visit the Dordogne for 4 weeks in the summer.
We've stayed at La Palombiere which isn't far away, both easy access to Sarlat and surroundings. Good pools and a first-class inexpensive restaurant that led us to dine there more often that we intended.
I don't think you'll have a problem with the site you've chosen either - it's 4 star and the French take their camping very seriously indeed. Also, it would risk being marked down by Dutch campers and reviewers if its shower/toilets were less than pristine, and they make up an awfully big proprtion of campers in France in the summer.
Hi James
We stayed at this site (must do more reviews), although it is about 4 years ago and it was in June, not August.
The site is very nice, terraced and with a lovely pool.
Yes, it is definitely on a steep hill! It was very hot when we were there, and one day we walked down into Sarlat in the morning, coming back - UPHILL - around lunchtime. Boy, were we hot!! After that we picked our times better!
Of course the advantage of the site is that you are able to walk into Sarlat, the traffic there at times is horrendous, so walking is best.
You'll be fit pushing a push-chair or buggy up that hill a few times!
james went there last june july the site is exelant the hill isnt to bad after a while the campsite is well laid out in terasses all with electric water and dranage lovely pool an kiddys pool also an indoor pool it has a little bar if you want a drink the site owner is a lovely lady she will help you for all your imformation one thing tho when you come off at junction 51 it is sign posted sarlat it is a country road narrow in placeses so be careful it brings you out just above the camp site about 1 mile the camp site entrance is on a hair pin bend on the left easy acssess tho we had a wonderful twelve days temp 34 c we stopped at a place called salbris the camp has the same name its by lake both going and comiming back hope enjoy geoff
The traffic in Sarlat, on market day especially, is dreadful - even when we were there in very early September traffic queues were moving only very slowly. It's a lovely town to visit, though - and as Les Perieres is within walking distance of the town you'll probably be OK.
We stayed at Soleil Plage, and have stayed before at Le Moulin du Roch - both sites I would highly recommend.
