Are you taking your own tent or other camping equipment, or do you want a ready-erected tent or mobile home?

Cambrils Park at Salou in Spain has everything you want, and is great for teenagers.  Mine loved it, and used to ask to bring all their friends whenever we were heading there.  It's a lovely site, good sized pitches, absolutely first class facilities, toilet blocks are cleaned throughout the day by a resident cleaner, there's a supermarket, shop, restaurant, take-away, sports fields, and evening entertainment - and it's walking distance into Salou or the other way a bit longer walk into Cambrils.

It's not cheap, though.  Sanguli is another site in Salou which is also recommended by others.

There are lots of sites in Argeles sur Mer, again a good resort for teenagers.  La Sirene and La Soleil are both lively sites, but there are lots of others near to the beaches and the centre of Argeles.  Cambrils Park, Sanguli, and both the Argeles sites take campers and caravanners, but if you want mobile homes in Argeles then Bois de Valmarie is a lovely site at the southern end of the town (my son worked there).

If you want a ready-erected tent or mobile, try Vacancesoleil or Siblu - both these companies may have vacancies, or try directly with the sites themselves.  Canvas Holidays and Keycamp are two other British companies which offer mobile homes and tents.

Hope this helps.

I've just had a quick look at the Vacancesoleil website - and there are quite a lot of sites still with mobiles and tents available, including some in Argeles, and if you do have your own equipment then Vacancesoleil can also book pitches for you.  www.vacancesoleil.co.uk is the website.

Also try Vacances Directes. We've used them for the last two years. Very competitive, even at the current exchange rate and very well equipped mobile homes.

Are they into watersports?

We are off to Chalain de Domaine in Jura as it is a large site on the edge of a lake. Apart from numerous watersports and sports such as tennis, football, volleyball etc there is also a tv room, cinema, adventure course. You can hire bikes, canoes, pedaloes etc.

Heard (and read) some fabulous reviews for the site, hence us booking. We are taking our two teenagers.

Hi Michelle,

Have a look at La Sirene, in Argeles sur mer, that campsite has excellent facilities for teenagers, they even have a scuba dive school in the pool complex, free bus to beach in high season, and well served by local bus services for trips into town etc.

Its quite close to Spain, and right on the Med.

If you're taking a motorhome into France then you ought to look at the 'Aires du Camping Cars' - almost every French town has one, you don't need to book, and some are even free to stay on.  Some have hook-ups and water on meters - I'm sure now that you've said you've a motorhome a lot of others who have one will be along to give advice.

There's a book which lists all these Aires - Le Guide Officiel Aires de Service Camping Cars' which you may be able to get hold of, and there are others published in English too.

All along the western Mediterranean (down towards the Spanish border) you see motorhomes parked up along the beachside pitches - I'm sure you'll find somewhere, even in high season.

Try Domaine De La Paille Basse . Friends have been there for many years with their teenage boys. Lots of other teenagers, sports during the day, disco and late bar in the evening. On site shop and eatery but nowhere near a beach!
