Hi there just wondered if anyone has stayed at this site within the last couple of years? Have done a search here uncovered two old posts from 2005 & 6 but wondered if maybe anyone had been in the last maybe 2 years?

Looking at maybe 11 nights July/Aug just wondreed if the harbour and surrounding area were reachable by bike and if there were any eateries/markets etc close by?

Many thanks in advance for any replies...Angie

Hi Angie
We stayed there last September for 3 nights, it is a Camping Cheque site. Nice site with pool (although we didn't go in), pitches are in groups of 6, in a sort of circle, if you know what I mean. Apart from the pitches straight at the back of the dunes, which are just next to each other. Toiletblocks clean.
We take bikes with us and yes, the harbour is perfectly cyclable, although we cycle quite far, and I don't know what your idea of 'reachable by bike' would be. We cycled quite a bit further than the harbour, we went up to the main road (all on cycle-paths)then cycled for a while along the Canal de Rhone. Interesting, as the canal is dug into the sea as it were. We cycled as far as we could, then came off the canal and went on to the beach there, which appeared to be a nudist beach, (the beach at the back of the site wasn't a nudist beach). We then cycled back along the road, the road which runs alongside the site is very quiet.
We didn't eat out at all, but on the way to the harbour we saw a few restaurants, again, perfectly reachable by bike in my opinion.
I'd recommend the site, and we'd certainly go back. In fact, from there we went to Camping Boucanet, and were sorry we did, as it was packed and we ended up going to Aigues Mortes instead, wishing we'd stayed at Les Tamaris for another couple of nights. We had even recommended Le Boucanet to another couple, who also went there, were equally disappointed, but ended up staying 1 night, as they couldn't be bothered looking elsewhere that day!

Hi Angie

We had about 8 nights at Les Tamaris last June and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It's location right by the beach is great if you like that sort of thing. Lots of cycling ( for softies !) opportunities, nice pool and more than adequate shop. All very clean and tidy everywhere - nothing nasty to say at all.Lots to see and do in the area

It was very busy -we didnt book but when we left caravans and motor homes were queuing up outside waiting to take the vacated spaces- we were quite shocked but h but put it down to the very wet weather elsewhere in France and everyone coming south ,If going again and we would - would definately book in advance but we are quite new at this game.

Hope this helps you make your decision anyway...

Good luck

We stayed last June and I really didn't like it!  The pitches were a bit like the "cheeses" in trivial pursuit, triangular shaped and not very big. In some cases there were additional pitches in the centre of the triangle. The swimming pool area looked nice but we didn't use it. The best thing was the proximity of the beach.  Perhaps take a look at it on google earth before you decide. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=campsites+frontignan+plages+france&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=12.031771,38.452148&ie=UTF8&ll=43.449881,3.807495&spn=0.000855,0.002347&t=h&z=19
