Seems that the 40KM through Slovenia to Croatia is going to cost £35. Has anyone been this way and con you use with safty non Mororways and Non express ways?

Hi Peter

Where are you thinking of staying in Croatia?  - We have been many times to Slovenia and also driven from Slovenia - Croatia.  In which way are you thinking it may not be safe to use non motorways and non express ways?

They are lovely countries and especially in Slovenia they have one of the lowest crime rates.

Looking to drive from UK through Germany to Dubrovnik across to Bari round the toe of Italy and home via the south of France in around 66 day. Towing with a Shogun so lenty of power.

Any thoughts on Croatia and towing down the coast?

Towed all over europe but this is our first trip to the East?

Reason to avoid the V was if we went from triest it was a max of 1 hour £35 as we had not planned to visit Slovenia as we love costs.

Also plan a quick trip to Mostar solo?

Sorry, don't understand this. What is the 'V' and where does the £35 come into things. Probably me being obtuse but .....

The smaller roads are fine but can be a bit bumpy just make sure you have a bit of cash to pay for the speeding fine your going to get although you wont be speeding and if you pop into Bosnia walk where the locals walk and keep away from river banks

V = vignette and £35 is the cost of it seemingly!

You may find it dificult to avoid the m/way in Slovenia and therefor the cost.

The coast road south towards Dubrovnik is fine but do avoid potholes-- see my site!
