Hi Guys,

Has anyone ever stayed at a camp site called

CAMP INTERCOMMUNAL DE L'ILL
68000 COLMAR
We are planning to travel to Lake Garda this summer and as the town of Colmar is about half way, we may stop here for a few days (we have twins aged ten with us) but I cannot find any site reviews.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

We have stayed here http://www.clairvacances.com/EN/index.htm which is a nice site just south of Colmar.

Thanks for that, unfortunately I should have said that we also have a dog with us and unfortunately the Clairvacances site does not allow dogs.

According to the Caravan Club review it is

"lovely spot beside river, friendly staff, excellent san. facs., separate area for Night Halt, steel pegs reqd.  good value, excellent    Reception closed 12.00 - 14.00 hrs and from 21.00 hrs.

Looks like a good bet although I loved Clair Vacances also- shame about the doggie.

Centre of Colmar is beautiful as are the neighbouring towns.

Hi,

while we have no info about the site you mentioned in colmar, we did a very similar route to Garda last year, and intend to do the same this summer. There is a fantastic site not too far from Colmar, in an outstanding setting, run by a lovely scottish couple, plenty to do... and cheap too.

I can highly recommend camping de masevaux. why not take a look?

What area at Garda are you going to ?, we stayed at what we feel is the perfect site, just by gardaland. was good enough to pull us back for 3 weeks in July!

Happy hols,

Russ

We are also off to Lake Garda - not sorted campsite out yet but having been to Lake Garda last year loved it enough to want to go back. We stayed in an overnight hotel at Colmar last year but might look at camping for the night on the way back. We are stopping at Metz and Milan on way down - but probably hotels. As we live near to Folkstone we are getting a later train and driving for 4 hours just to break journey.

Gardaland was brillant.

Hi Sammy,

the fantastic site near gardaland is called 'Camping le Palme'

Let me know what you think, once you've seen their website. Its beautifully located, unbelievably clean, brilliant facilities, and well priced.

We're already booked !

Regards,

Russ

Hi Russ

We have never been to Lake Garda before, but from the map we are thinking of staying close to Desenzano del garda on the shores of the lake.

I looked at Le Palme Village, it looks good, and in the right area, also it does not appear to be too big (we don't want the kids to get lost), thanks for the info, we will add this site to the list to be considered.

HI Sja1951,
WE too are going to Lake Garda for 3 weeks in August, I looked long and hard for a campsite near to either Colmar or Mulhouse for an overnight stop and found a campsite called Camping De L'ill at Mulhouse. It is 5 mins off the motorway, has a swimming pool for the children to cool off in after a long journey and seems nice.
We are stopping at a campsite called Camping Piantelle at moniga del garda on the lake, it comes highly recommended, with XXl pitches of 130msq, as pitches around the lake are usually quite small, ( we have a large twin axle) and found it difficult to find a site that could accommodate our outfit. However, wherever you decide to go on the lake, you will have a wonderful time as it is absolutely breathtaking.
I hope this is of use to you, please if you have any more questions, just ask.
