If you can go after the 22 August, then what about Kawan Village Le Val d'Authie, in Picardy, which is about an hour and a half from Calais (so a bit more from Dunkerque), and takes Camping Cheques. This means a pitch will cost £13.40 for two people, car, caravan, motorhome or tent, and electricity, plus 3 euros each for the children *under 12. It's got good reviews on this website, and has a covered swimming pool in case of poor weather. It also has permanent bouncy castles, roller skating zone, spacious 2 ha park with a kite flying area, walking, 2000 m2 playground, and is about 6 km from the beach. It has an on-site restaurant, pizzeria, take-away, and bar (not open Wednesdays) and also has toilet facilities specially for children, plus a sauna, steam room and whirlpool bath for the adults. Pitches are a good size, and mostly hedged between so you have your own area for privacy.
See the Camping Cheque website www.campingcheque.co.uk for details - but you can have seven nights for the price of six Camping Cheques, too. If you'd like any further information about Camping Cheques then post again - we've been using them for 12 years now, so are somewhat 'experts'.
Chateau du Gandspette is a lovely site, too (recommended above by HelenaB) but pricey if you have to pay full price, and it doesn't have the covered pool. In every other way, though, its a great site and a very good introduction to French campsites.
