I have been reading some FAQ on the french tourist information website. Some useful stuff there. It looks like most are fairly relaxed about it. For example some beaches are designated nudist purely because people have been bathing there au natural for some time. I am sure that we will find a few camp sites where topless is tollerated around the pool. We will probably end up at a nudist beach too. My wife hates strap marks and her boobs look great with a tan, they look great without for that matter! I love swimming in the buff more than sunbathing.. We rented a converted chapel in the Dordorgne two years ago complete with our own pool it was fantastic. The pool guy who came to check the water and the maids who came to change linen did not bat an eyelid, although one occaision was quite embarrassing due to my state of ermmm...excitement! They just exchanged glances and smiled at my predicament as I jumped back in the pool!
Be careful, these are sensitive British holidaymakers!!

I must either be very unobservant or go to very restrained campsites as I don't remember ever seeing women topless round the pool (my main concern is finding a costume which covers up as much of me and my flab as possible!). On beaches in the south of France - yes, but not on small family campsites.... Maybe I live a sheltered life!

Maybe you do. Although if you wanted them you would find them!

Have never seen any topless sunbathers around the pool, other than the south of France on a big campsite. We were in the vendee last year and none there. We did notice a few on the beach at Sable. Think you may feel a little out of place on most family campsites.
Never found it to be a problem anywhere in Europe. I would think the only people to complain would be Brits with kids. But I don't see the fuss (although I do try my hardest to look!)
Try the following...../www.lecolombier-naturisme.com......very friendly Vendee site. English spoken. Acres of space and wear clothes if you want to. In France who cares???.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
