Loads of beautiful villages and towns on the route de vin - don't have to go far Eguisheim (sic) 5 k away is stunning. With the kids - Monkey Mountain on the way up to Haut Konigsberg (combine in a day), the butterfly zoo and the stork sanctuary. Colmar is worth a couple of day trips, in to the black forest - a pedalo on lake titisee followed by wursts and saurkraut. A trip up into the vosges.

We loved it so much it's pencilled in for a return in 2010.

Madam can be very helpful and pleasent but has a very gallic response to stress.

I'm sure you'll have a great time.

If you are into vintage cars, don't miss the Schlumff museum in Colmar. Superb. Has the largest collection of Bugatti Royales including Ms Bugatti's personal one. We also took a day trip up to Heidelburg, about 125 miles. Well worth it for the views from the Schloss. Added bonus of a good blast on the Autobahn!

The Schlumpf Motor Museum is actually at Mulhouse .

A drive along the Route des Cretes is well worth doing. It is an excellent scenic route running 39 miles from the Col de Bonhomme in the north to Thann in the south.

Hi, we were there a couple of years back and there were no handsome blokes modelling sexy speedos, and fortunately since I was with my ex husband who is well lardy, no fat ugly blokes in them either.  If there had been a rule and it had been broken I am sure Madame would have a had a very harsh word with the culprit - she scared us!
