We are in the process of changing our minds about where to go in France at the start of June. Initial thoughts of Brittany are now drifting to Burgundy - possibly a bit warmer and, ohhh, the wines....!!
Can anyone recommend a campsite round the Beaune region, but would go up to 30 miles in any direction from there? We don't want an all-singing, all-dancing site but would prefer a smaller, quieter one, but preferably with somewhere close by to eat if possible.

There's a really nice municipal site in Beaune itself - walking distance to everything the town offers, good sized pitches, and the sanitary block is fine. It does tend to be used by overnighters though - but there are some long-stayers, too.

I'd definitely second the suggestion of Château de l'Epervière: very pleasant site, especially if you can get one of the pitches by the lake, good faclities, indoor and outdoor pools, excellent restaurant, wine tasting evenings. Chalon, Beaune, Dijon and Tournus are all worth visiting, and the River Saone is just a short stroll from the site. The only downside for us has been the almost total absence of any French campers on site, but if you are happy with 'European', rather than 'French', it is a lovely place to spend a week or so.

La Grappe d'Or in Meursault, just outside Beaune is worth a look. Just up the road from the Chateau.

I would also recommend Chateau de l'Eperviere great site. We went late May early June and it was very quiet suited us but maybe too quiet for some. Had a mixture of weather during the week we were there. It can be quite cold and wet in this area, but as we were in a static didn't bother us and I must say we put the heating on some nights, but also had some warm sunny days as well
