Hello all looking for an overnighter 4 hours max from Channel tunnel. Getting off tunnel about 4.30, going down to Millau via Orleans so looking for somewhere to stop overnight.

If you are going Calais, Rouen, Chartes, Orleans, there is a campsite at Neufchatel-en-Bray 20mls before Rouen, just off motorway & signposted as you enter the town.

There are municipals at Chartres & Orleans. google for them. ie 'Chartres camping municipal' & you will get a google map to print off.

If you are unfamiliar it may be best to arm yourself with some guides, do you have the Caravan Club Europe guide which covers France - that's pretty good. If you are going off-season (ie not July and August) get the ACSI guide, you get a campsite discount card with it and if you get the DVD too there is a route planner included. You can look for campsites, using ACSI, free online here: . Good luck. ACSI France

A site that may suite you (and it saves driving through Rouen - which is not for the faint hearted) which we have used is Campsite De l'Ile des Trois Rois, N49.23564 E1.40024. It is a lovely level site, in a bend of the river Seine, with clean facilities and is about 3 hours from Calais. We went intending an overnight halt and stayed longer.
