Travelling from Durkirk - Antibes (Biot) Camping Du Pylone departing Durkirk at 1500hrs on a Friday can anyone recommend a stopover half way ish. I know there are lots of formule 1 etc en-route do they overcharge if you do not pre book? The earliest we can arrive at the site is 1200hrs on the Saturday.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

The F1 price is the same wether you pre-book or not, problem is that if you just turn up on spec it will be fully booked, some folk use the F1's just to get a few hours sleep and then continue, also I do believe the Germans (only joking) will book evey F1 along thier route, and then when they arrive at one, simply cancell all the others, as I think you are allowed to cancell upto 17:00hrs on day of arrival, I have been to Camping du Pylon both static and tent, it is a superb site and the security is second to none, you will hardly need the car, apart from the trip to the supermarket, there is a very large Auchan supermarket at Cannes, that was even selling cars! when I was there last, and the assistants were whizzing around the store on rollerblades!, due to it's size, doing the journey with one overnight is dooable, although I do two overnights these days, if only doing the one stop, I would go for Macon, that will make the the second day a little easiar, you will be definatley arriving at Camping du Pylon after mid-day thats for sure, there are a couple of english familes that live on the site all year round, they manage some of the statics for the owners, my Son just got back from the site next door "Le Logis De  La Brague" he was only there for ten days mid May, and has returned brown and peeling, wall to wall sun every day, he took his own 6 man Tesco tent (£15!), and flew from Liverpool on EasyJet, a flight time of 2Hrs 15mins!, you will enjoy!.
