We stayed at Huttopia Versailles for 2 nights in one of their ready-erected tents.

It was cute and perfect for a stopover without having to pitch the tent, the site was clean and the toilets for nice.  The only issue we had was a lack of drinking water tap - but that was that particular site presumably.

The pitches seemed pretty small, but it was a nice secluded campsite and seemed very friendly.

Has anyone been recently? Would love to know if its as great as it sounds? star gazing, nature trails, riding , lake etc.. wow!

It doesnt seem to have a swimming pool though..just a lake  -  also,  I was wondering what the drive time from Le Havre would be - anyone driven there?

It has a 'natural' swimming pool, or it did when we visited.  It's not chlorinated, and is cleaned by natural means, so it can be out of action sometimes.  We liked the site a lot, we had a sunny pitch on the prairie area, but most people camped in the woodland.   I would have said it's about a three hour drive from Le Havre, easy enough to find, though.  The site is near to the village sports ground, too, and children are welcome to use the facilities there.

We thought the village of Senonches quite pretty, with some nice little shops and restaurants, and you're near enough to go into Chartres if you want 'bigger'.  The Parc Naturelle of the Perche surrounds the site, and is wooded and interesting if you're nature lovers.

I've just had a look at the reviews and every does seem happy with it.... (this is the site I mentioned on the other message  you replied to Val !)

I think i'm sold on it and would love a forest pitch... it looks amazing and 3 hour drive is a piece of cake really.

The only thing (really the only thing) is would the kids miss a 'real' pool.....mmmmm
