We are going to France with 2 teenages who love water for the first time this year. One word of advice, if you want the school hols book early. We started looking in Feb. and already many sites were full for the dates we wanted. We have booked for a week here - Campsites Le Caussanel
Rodez, Millau and 5 days at Les Bois du Bardelet near Gien.
Will review when return

We went to the Croix du Vieux Pont one Halloween and there were a lot of Brits and ketchup. And 10 different tour operators! I was deeply disappointed as it gets rave reviews on here. Horses for courses, eh?

Hi Tracegs

I second what Val said. Get the Eurocamp and Canvas brochure and have a look at their recommendations.

You really need to have an area in mind and then research the campsites in that area. It all depends how far you want to travel.  Obviously with 13 year olds you will have to go in school holidays, and at this time the roads and campsites can be very busy. Also if you are going to the med it can be very very hot.

I am sure when you have decided there are lots of people on here that will give you good advice on the campsites.

Jill

It will defo be in school hols, their school is very strict. we're just back from touring Egypt so heat and adventure are more than fine by us. I'd hope to book by this oct for next aug. I'm looking at all the places people are suggesting as I go. Showed one to o/h last night which I think looks really 'French' (les peupliers) which he thought was a ridiculous comment. He then checked it out and said "oh my god, IT LOOKS REALLY FRENCH!" tut.

Wwhen we were in your situation with a couple of boys in their early teens we all enjoyed a couple of holidays at La Pachacaid at Canadel not too far from St Tropez.  Nice pool area, water park immediately next door and other activities in site.  There were lots of other young teenagers on the site from all nationalities which has a well supervised underground disco (not especially noisy, just a gentle throbbing up through the bed legs!).

Best of all from the concerned parents perspective, the site is fairly remote without transport so even if they take it into their heads to leave the site there is no-where for them to go to.

The site is in all the brochures.
