Hello

We've book in at pins parasol for late july-august and have a few questions if someone will be kind enough to answer....

What is the ground like ie is it sandy/will normal pegs do,

Are normal shorts ok in the pool, is it warm.....we have a 6month old water baby in tow.

Is a normal EHU ok, I've read we might need either a two pin convertor and ap polarity changer,

How far is a supermarket and how far is the beach( I've read bretignolles is about 10mins....is there ample parking).

Many thanks17

Is this the "Pins Parasol"  at Frejus, or the other one?, I have been to the one at Frejus and although the pitches were terraced in parts, the ground seemed ok for regular pegs. but that may have just been my pitch, always handy to have a few rock pegs at hand just in case!.

If you mean Le Pin Parasol Vendee

Its grass pitches  and we use either plastic or metal, depends on how hard the ground is.

The main pool is tepid  ish, but you soon get used to it. The children pool is nice but not tested the water.

You have to have proper swim trunks not shorts.

We didnt need a two pin plug or a reverse polarity plug.

There is a supermarket at Coex about 5- 10 minutes away, small village.  Pass on Bretigonlles  ( memory letting me down ) but think there is.

And enjoy you stay there, lovely family run site.

Hyper markets in St Gilles and markets both sides of the river.

Beaches at Bretignolles and Brem and plenty of choice along with a fair amount of parking.

A little further down the coast is Sables - extensive beach, lovely shops estensive markets - Oh and some very expensive boats.

Back to Le Pin Parasol - the main pool, in my opinion was a bit on the brrrr - chilly side; however, it doesn't seem to impede the kids' enjoyment of the water and it is a boon on a scorching day.

Great site we are back for a second time end of July for 3 weeks. Last year we used normal wire pegs with the odd plastic one with no problems for the awning, most pitches seemed to be prety level too. As someone has previously said you have to wear trunks no shorts in the pools. We did have reversed polarity on our pitch last year but i just swaped the terminals over on the EHU Lead. I have made an adapter up for this year.

We use one of these. And have a short lead already made up, saves you swapping wires.

Just to add to the above...

Normal pegs will suffice - No sand from memory.

Even a 6/7 month baby will love the toddler's pool - It is an utter delight. And THAT pool is warm enough.

Supermarket - Moderate size SuperU in Coex (check out the Sensory Garden in the middle of the village BTW) down country roads 3 miles away. Big hyperjobs on your side of St Gilles and in centre of Bretignolles.

Beach - 10 mins in a Porsche at 7am. 20 mins otherwise. The nearest beach (lovely but no facilities and where you will see human dangly bits) is just before you get to Bretignolles. Often simply marked "ND" on large scale road maps - short for Notre-Dame-des-Dunes. Down a small residential type tarmac road and then it gets a bit bumpy before ending up on the dunes.

Parking - Dunno! We've only been twice in June when it is not a problem.
