We used Norfolkline in May to go to Belgium. Was perfectly acceptable.
However, what we didn't factor in to our trip, was that Dunkerque (Ferry port) is not that further North from Calais, in driving terms, but is a heck of a difference time wise when the ferry crossing takes longer. This, and the cross channel time difference, made us quite late to our first stopover. (Bruges) It is quicker to sail to Calais and drive the extra few miles.
