Leave it as late as you can to check - http://www.highways.gov.uk/roads/18111.aspx
or other sites but note that delays in the north-east segment, clockwise, are more or less permanent

........ . Choice of M1 and clockwise round M25 or M40 and anti clockwise. Has anyone got up to date info on road works etc to help us decide which way to go?
Thanks
Dave

Hi,
We are travelling from Mid wales to Dover on Saturday morning and would like to arrive in Dover for about midday. Can anyone advise on most likley best route?? I know bit of a loaded question, but we live in the North of Scotland and we don't have BIG roads up here, lol.
We are detouring via friends in FourCrosses, Wales for 1 night to break our journey and we plan to leave Wales about 7am, will this be early enough?
We also have a TomTom GO730 with IQ routes with but haven't paid for the latest traffic updates, Would it be a worthwhile thing to do? I've spent some time this afternoon looking at all the roadworks sites and it seems that they are everywhere!
Any advice welcome,
Thanks
Donna
------------- everything will be ok in the end, if its not ok, its not the end. Anon.
