Prices ... the main thing if you want to save money is to avoid the cafés IME, which is a shame as that is half the reason to go to France!
Just buy an extra baguette in the morning with a couple of slices of ham and you have an excellent lunch for next to nothing. Sausages, veg and a bottle of wine makes a good evening meal and costs little.
Whereas we found that going to a café and having a drink and snack always seemed to cost 40-50 Euros for the four of us.
We also found prices for things like ice creams very high in the tourist traps - visited Le Touquet-Paris-Plage which was breathtakingly expensive, we did little more than breathe and just about got out alive.
