Hi all,

We have Eurotunnel booked for an 8 am ish train but as we are staying in Folkestone overnight now we would like to leave earlier if possible.

I know they can get you on if you have missed your train but does the same work if you arrrive early?

Thanks.

Yes it does - if there is space on an earlier train. When you check in they will offer you the first available train or the train you are booked on - just select which one you want. :)

They usually let you get on an earlier train up to about 2h before your booked crossing, providing it is not busy and still have places etc...

You should be able to get onto an earlier train at 06:00h in the morning for sure!

Good Good. I have no idea why we didn't book an early train.

Oh yes I do......we weren't originally going to stay down in Folkestone the night before. Plus OH works night shift so he was going to be all over the place but that is sorted now too!

Would much prefer an earlier train so we can then get on and drive as are planning to get to Limoges on day 1 so the rest of the fortnight apart form last day is relatively little driving...2 hours max.

This usually happens but beware, you can be charged in certain circumstances.

You can always ring them and alter your booking if you want to be sure, but they will charge you the difference between what you paid and the current price of the crossing you want.  Have alook on the website first to see what the difference is. We've done it several times as always changing our minds!

This year we just turned up early and got on an earlier train, no charge.

Just had a look at it has doubled in price since we booked!!!!  The earlier slot is still cheaper than ours so hopefully if we did get their earlier then would be no charge. We can but try!
