For electric hook up you will need the usual blue plugged 25m lead, if it is a tent you will need the one with three sockets on the tent end. Any half decent camping shop will tell you. You might need the continental adapter too. Have a look on David Klyne's web site (the previous poster) On the route you are going you should miss most cities, except the usual clamour for position on the M25. Allow plenty of time. RAC give Grimsby to Dover as 6 hours. Allow at least three more to give for beaks and traffic near London. Calais to Portorson is 300 miles, allow about 5 hours plus stops. Depending on your ferry or tunnel company then need a certain amount of check in time. Beware speeding to get to your booked ferry. Tunnel will let you go on the next one and so will many of the ferry companies on the short crossing. What are you going to use for cooking? Camping gaz is available in France, but not Calor. Other than that what would you take for camping in Scotland? Passports, car documents and your E111 cards. Travel and personal insurance is a good idea.
