I know its a bit early and lots of folk are still going on this years hols, but we are planning a trip to La Garangeoire for next year and would like to book this site independently. Has anyone any experience of booking directly with the site and if so how did it go.
We have been here twice before and love the site very much, but both times previously have been with Keycamp and looking at their prices for 2010 its getting ridiculously expensive. It cost us about £1500 the 1st time here, which was in 2005 and in 2006 about £1800, last year we went to Les Biches which was poor in comparison and cost about the same, but the keycamp website is quoting between £2400 & £2600 for next year in a similar unit. The Sites own prices for this year look much more reasonable, but I am unsure of procedure for booking direct. I sent an email a couple of days ago but have not had a reply yet (I suppose they could be very busy with this years guests!)
I would appreciate anyones advice if they have booked this way,
Thanks Guys,
JK
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
We have always contacted them direct by e-mail in the past when booking a pitch, they are very good at replying normaly but as you say it is a busy time for them at present.
They do a very good deal if you pay by camping cheque, stay 14 nighta and pay for 11, depends when you go as to using camping cheques though.
If you ring them they speak excellent English and you should have no probs getting booked in as long as you book early. Dont waste time as people will be on site now booking for next year

Camping Cheques are an organisation that organise deals with camp sites in many counties for out of main season camping.
You pay one price for the nightly stay whatever the listed site price may be, we have used them for many years and found them very good, if you look on thier web site you find out all about them.

Thanks Maisie, got an email back this morning saying they don't start planning for 2010 until October and for me to be back in touch in a few weeks, so I will email or call in early september.
And thanks again deltaman will look at camping cheques website. Dont you just love the internet...
Hi We went to the garangeoire last year, booked through the campsite, and absolutly loved it. The mobile home we booked ( which were just behind the Canvas Holiday ones) looked brand new and was lovely. We had no problems with bookings or anything, I'd recommend it.

We just got back from La Garangeoire today!! And we've put our name down for next year!!
Having spoken to the very helpful staff there, they are indeed already taking names & pitch requests, and they will be sending out offers of pitches in early October by email.
I can tell you that it is absolutely heaving at the moment, and they're working their socks off! Will be putting a review on shortly but this site is fantastic!

Just like when we were going last year, we had to wait until October before we could book as they let the people who are already there book again for the next year. One thing not to miss is the tour of the grounds by the lady who lives in the Chateau. She tells you the history of the campsite and the history of the Vendee. Very interesting if your into that sort of thing.
