Hi all,

Anyone have any suggestions for an overnight stop enroute to Jura? We are heading out of Calais.... Staying at Domaine De Chalian campsite. Any suggestions welcome.. Cheers!

There is a simple but good site at Laon which we have used and would recommend. About 2.5 hours from Calais on the A26.

Thanks for the info - I was hoping to get a bit further before we stop but it's handy to know of one closer to calais for the way back!

The Municipal at Troyes is a nice site. About halfway.

Yep I'd second the Troyes one, we did the Alps so not that far off of the Jura and stopped at Troyes both ways.

We drove Dunkirk to Domaine du Chalain 2 weeks ago non-stop. We only stopped to re-fuel once. Took us 7.5hrs & not worth a stop over IMO.

We drove from Mid-Wales the day before and stopped overnight in Dover on the way out and in Dunkirk on the way back.

Worst part was from home to Dover...a 6.5hr journey took us 9.5hrs. M25...what an absolute NIGHTMARE. It's Portsmouth for us next year...

Thanks everyone - we would have considered doing it in one go but we can't actually get into Domaine Du Chalain until Tuesday so we have to stop! Will check out the Troyes site - location on map looks great for a stopover. Thanks all!
