I must be really lucky getting 1.32 euros at present by using buy back e. g. buying unwanted euros from holiday makers who want to exchange back to sterling . Got 4000 euros this way to fund our winter in Spain. If the selling rate goes up so does the buying rate usually about 18% difference
During July, whilst down in the Ardeche, we used the credit card for buying fuel, and any purchase over 50Euro, and was amazed to now see that the rate worked out better than what I got from the bank for cash, so long as we pay the card statement of in full, we will be quids in.

As I said above ... Fairfx offer a good rate but if you want to buy on line and pay with Visa they want to charge you £12.50 !!! .. Better to try elsewhere ... or the Post Office, as I suggested, which gave me £1.13 and no charges for anything!

You should be aware that the post office does not charge commission but if you pay by debit or credit card your bank will charge you for either a cash advance fee or foreign purchase fee.
This is usually applicable to any purchase of forex from any supplier.
The amount of the debit from the supplier does not match the amount on your bank statement but very few people check this as they are away on holiday and in different thought mode
Its a bank con but makes them a fortune , you think you are drawing out your own cash , check with your bank and ask them if they are charging you
Just back from Europe where we used a fairfx card. Loaded £2000 via debit card onto it which gave us 2,320 Euros meaning the rate was 1.16! No extra fee's and the card was free via the Martin Lewis link. Infact we got 2 cards, and kept the 2nd card (with just 10 euros on it in a safe place. Then if the main one was got lost or stolen, we only had to ring FairFX up and they could cancel the first card and transfer the balance onto our 2nd card!
Will be doing the same next year as it worked out great!
