Hello, do people find the weather get any better generally if you go into Normandy rather than around Calais, or is there little in it? Thanks

A very general rule of thumb is West is wetter than East (in our hemisphere).

 Last ''summer'' we stayed in the Loire and enjoyed significantly better weather than UK or Brittany. Year before in Vendee  (West) was a washout but year before that -  (West) in Brittany was amazingly hot!

None of that helps I know. But agree with Kate W, head Loire and South. I guess there's never a guarantee - just the hope that the drive pays off!
