We went to the Czech Republic in 2001, seems a long time ago now!
Really enjoyed it, especially Prague. Stayed on a campsite just outside Prague, walking distance to the bus, then from the bus caught the metro into town. Charles Bridge is wonderful.
On another day we went on the train to Kutna Hora, where the ossuary is, a truly weird experience, but worth it.
Also stayed on Lake Lipno, near Cesky Krumlov, in the south near the border with Austria.
Telc is another town worth a visit.
The only thing we found was that not many people spoke English. Not a problem for us, as I speak enough German to get by, which proved quite useful over there. Roadsigns are also quite difficult to interpret, we got horribly lost on the outskirts of Prague! But it was a great holiday and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Have a look through the other threads, and I can well recommend the Czech Republic.
