Planning next year's camping and have decided that Halliots looks a good 3 night stopover for the journey to the Vendee. Trouble is the last review is 2008. If anyone has a more recent experience of this site, could they let me know (good or bad) so I can be sure.

Thanks

hi pfisher, we had a 3 night stop at haliotis this year on our way to the vendee. Ideal campsite for a stop over. Tad bit noisy at time, but all facilities great. we had an enjoyable beach day there and a trip to mont st michael. would recommend it.

Hi just got back from this site not yet had time to review it but will do. Fantastic little site. Owners all speak english and couldn't do enough for us. We had trouble with a noisy neighbour at night, put up with it for a few nights then complained. Owner got rid of them without hesitation made us wish we had complained in the beginning!
Most of the pitches are a good size with privacy provided by hedges, only a few smaller ones.
Pool lovely for adults and children alike and always used a little cold at times but apprecited in the hot weather we had!
Great little bar overlooking the pool, shame they didn't serve food.
Supermarket 10 minute walk away.
Will provide fresh bread and breakfast bits but to be honest we just bought from supermarket as cheaper and just as good.
Town lovely, only ate out once but really good meal.
We used electric hook up and our mains showed a red light which meant reverse polarity, spoke to owners and they said it was nothing to worry about, we didn't and had no problems using cool box, dvd player hair dryer on it.
Ice packs frozen for you if you wish in freezer in backj room of bar for no charge.
Parks, bouncy castle mimi farm all great for my two young boys.
Lots to do in surrounding area.
Fantastic site in fact we are at present discussing whether or not to go back next year!!!!

Any thing else I can do to help please ask!

Thanks Crissy. Reassured now about deciding on this site. Just the other parts of the holiday to research. Taking my time as dont want to have it all done now and nothing to do for the rest of the winter!

One last thing. should I ask for any particular area or pitch. I have two boys 8 & 6 years.

pfisher, the pitches that have the individual sanitary facilties are all very close to the park. we were disapointed these were full when we booked but after actually going there were quite glad as even tho the park and farm was lovely, we wouldnt of wanted to camp right on top of it. the rest of the pitches all seemed much the same to be honest.

Hi the ones with personnal wash rooms that over look the field are lovely, they don't face the park and are spacious. If you look on the website map you can see the pitches that are spacious I think they are the green ones. Avoid the ones behind the shower block and sand park area as these looked cramped, I don't think this was a hook up area though. Have a lovely time we did!

Crissy, you are correct they don"t face the park, they are by the outdoor gym, near the bouncy castle.

What i would like to emphasis is that this site is lovely and doesn't rely on pitches with individual washrooms, the other x2 pitches we have used on this site were of a good size and had EHU, also the shower block was ample in size and always clean.............?      review to follow soonest?

No your right it doesn't but I really liked the pitches that overlooked the field with the horses in. Shower blocks were clean, although slightly cold when busy!!! Are you off soon Tony? Weather was fantastic last week, hours of hot sunshine!!
pfisher I am sure you will have a fantastic time, enjoy.

Crissy, got back last week . I used Haliotis as an extended stop on the way to the Vendee and again on the return. I can see why it is so well thought of, it is very accommodating and in a great location. Also had a great time, first time traveling with another family, can't wait for next year.
