I'd be grateful for any advice on sites in the Brittany area ideally next to a beach with facilities for young children. Many good suggestions already from members which are gratefully received but would very much appreciate comments from anyone has has visited the Yelloh La Plage or Le Grand Large sites specifically. Thanks

I have stayed at Camping Club du St Laurent in Foret de Fousenant which has access to it's own beach, a short walk to coastal stroll from a large sandy beach and a lovely pool with water slides overlooking the bay.

http://www.camping-du-saint-laurent.fr/flash/index-uk.html

would highly reccomend it for a young family.

Guy.

With the very greatest of respect may I point out that posting in capitals is perceived as shouting and not very polite or complimentary.
I am frankly surprised that you received any responses to your posting at all......lol

Thankyou for the advice Vic. I am a novice to forums so you must excuse me. I must say, again with respect, that it sounds like political correctness gone mad. I would hope common sense prevails and members appreciate a request for advice and help when they see it whether in capitals or otherwise but thanks for the advice anyway! Giles

We stayed at Raguenez plage at Nevez( a bit further south than fouesnant), its a quiet site with direct access to the beach, slides at the pool and a kids club if you go with eurocamp. they had statics there too.although 8 was about the max age they would enjoy kids club as its an all age one and seems to cater more for littler kids in general)

If you are looked at the Fouesnant area and want something a little livelier camping Atlantique has a great waterpark direct access to the beach and entertainment for the kids ( as well as seerate age related kids clubs... IMO better)

Both are available thorugh eurocamp ( weve looked at their statics and they are excellent)

Many thanks Lilmiss. Did you go through Eurocamp and is there any operator you would particularly recommend? Thanks again.

We have been to Atlantique and it's great for young children, lovely beach great pool, good play park and all facilities were clean and well looked after.  We've been with a few operators and have found them all pretty much the same apart from price. I usually decide on the site and then look at all the operators and go with the cheapest. Some mobile homes vary, you just need to look at their list and decide what you want, we went for a tent this year and the whole family preferred it and it was much cheaper!

Giles,

Welcome to the site, I am sure that you will soon learn (or be told) about the rights and wrongs of SHOUTING and top & bottom posting.

I am still learning myself, after all there is life other than computers (for some folk)

A couple of years ago we stayed at http://www.les-mouettes.com/ which is just a few miles from Rosscoff hence the reason we choise it.

This site is very well equiped for children.

As well as pitches for touring caravans the site also has chalets and frame tents operated by companies such as Eurocamp.

We have just come back from Les Mouettes it was a fantastic site the kids loved it there were lots of young children on the site, due to the fact it is so close to the ferry. The swimming pool was very good and safe for toddlers (seperate area) a good play park next to the bar/cafe so the little ones can play and mums and dads can relax this looked very popular.

We went with Eurocamp only because we wanted to do 2 sites and eurocamp did both. Thomsons now do Alfresco they had some mobiles on the site and they were gorgeous but more expensive than anyone else. I think Canvas were on the site they also have good mobiles, I would certainly look at using Canvas in the future.
