We never went to sites with pools when we were younger, but our son got to an age where he was able to swim, wanted to play with other kids (... and without us mainly!) so we started going to sites with pools.
Why do Brits feel they *have* to go to the seaside on holiday? If you have a nice site with a good pool you don't have to, and there are loads of sites like that in France.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Is the seaside bit a dig at me? we went to loads of other inland places too, took 5 weeks and toured around, wanted some sun as well as sea, and OH won't use pools.
I love campsite pools - but there's nothing like swimming in the sea, jumping the waves, and walking knee deep along the beach and back hunting shells. I think us Brits like the seaside because that was usually where we went as children and it was so.ooo....ooooo exciting. We still hanker for that excitement and the seaside gives us that.
I hate beaches, but I love the sea!

Nooo!! Don't think that! Not at all! It's just us Brits don't seem to think we've had a holiday unless we've been to the seaside!
