Hi again thank you for your reponse to my French Passion Ithink we will try them again when we retire and have more time. but in the mean time could any one tell us where to find a small site around La Rochelle for next July we have a Luner Roadstar motorhome, the two of us and the dog. We are not bothered about pools ect as long as it is quite and clean We have bikes to get about,so shopping is no problem as long as it not more then 10 kil as we are getting a bit older Thanks

Camping bel in vendee is a smaller family run site. Its about 45mins from la rochelle. We went from late june early july this year. It got busier nearer july though. Pool was always empty and plenty of sun loungers to go round. Kids clubs are the other end of the site so no noise from that and no evening entertainment to keep you awake either. Shoers and toilets were clean and plenty of hot water no matter what time of day. Super u (supermarket), 4 beeches and the town are all within walking distance or a very short bike ride. It was recommended to us for location, we loved it and the people that told us returned earlier this year.

Not specific to La Rochelle but still in the Charente. These are small CL type sites. As this tends to be an english thing they are also english owned but if you like the idea of French passion sites they may be what you are looking for in terms of size and peace and quiet. Just not very french.

I think there is a site for motorhomes in La Rochelle.
We were there in the summer and had a map of the town, saw the site on it.
Not sure though how long you would be able to stay.
If you try the tourist information in La Rochelle they should be able to help, thats where we bought the map.
Also I work with a girl who has been there for the past two years in July with her motorhome, I will ask her where they stay.
