Hello - and help!

My daughter and I have a couple of days booked to "do" the champagne houses in Reims / Epernay (september 14 & 15) trouble is I cant seem to find a site - some of them seem to go into hibernation once the new school term starts!

Any ideas / recommendations would be (very) gratefully received....

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

A few days ago we stayed at a small Municipal Campsite at Val de Vestle which is about 10 miles south of Reims.

We have stayed in the past at Le Municipal du Bord de l'Aisne at Guignicourt, just North (33 kms) of Reims. The current Michelin guide give opening as 'April to 15th October, so you should just sneak in!. This was a clean friendly, no frills site and should put you within easy reach of the Champagne area. The price is give as 9 Euros a night.It is a really interesting part of the world, even without the 'fizz', so I hope you have a great time.

In the event we changed our plans and stayed at Bondues - Camping des Ramiers - just north of Lille.

Pleasant quiet sort of site - just a feeling that the patron was out for every cent they could make (warm showers ( not optional in my view!) 1 euro apiece. Visitors to the site 0.50 euros if staying more than 2 hours............

We did give a baptism to our new Gelert Monsoon 4. ...a great improvement on camping a la dome!
