Hi vampress.

                  Driving in France is great, far better than here in the UK, although having driven to the centre of Paris, I have to say that experience is a little special, but not quite as special as the day had driving in and around Turin, never again thank you!.

Driving in france generally is very very easy. Driving in paris is very very busy very fast.

If you are committed to it do it at your speed & know where you are going.

You soon get used to it and by the time you get near to your destination you will be more familiar. Driving nearer to Paris is more demanding simply because there is more traffic but still no more difficult than th M25!

If you don't have to go into central Paris then don't! Otherwise driving in Paris is no problem: that includes the péripherique - you just have to make sure that you're in the outside lane at the Porte where you exit! This is a matter of reading the map and knowing where you are - switch the satnav off if you have one!

a wee tip i got for driving on the wrong side of the road was to stick some tape around the right hand side of my steering wheel and i still do it to this day so as soon as im in drivers seat i see the tape and know to drive on the right then i come home and drive on the right aswell lol

we were in France last week,and got caught up in outskirts of Paris traffic.

 OMG ! policemen on motorbikes blowing whistles,tonnes and tonnes of people on mopeds / bikes swerving, and going up on the pavement etc,people not caring about red lights,lane hopping like mad

craaaaazy!
