I booked one of those cheap ferry deals for next June, expecting to take the kids to EuroDisney - until I saw the price of getting in!! 17

We may go to Parc Asterix instead (although that 'aint cheap either) but otherwise, can anyone recommend a site with the following criteria:

1. 2 hours from Dunkirk (any direction).
2. Kids playground (kids under 7), pool?, cycle routes.

Many thanks for any help...

Camping Ypra, Kemmel, just inside Belgium.
Lovely site, great cycling & walking on marked trails - cafe and bar on site. Pleasant village short stroll away and easy access to Ypres, Brugge etc..
Under an hour from Dunkirk - can stock up at Auchen hypermarket on the way.

We stayed here in September and the site is very geared up for children. Its got a good pool complex and also a nice restaurant. Pitches are pretty big and have all services. My son and his Partners were there at the same time and they went to Eurodisney from there although its not the nearest site.

Another 17 for Croix du Pont .Very easy to drive to Disney They do coach trips from the campsite very expensive and they return too early in the evening.Mind you the campsite was up for sale when we were there in 2008 so it may be all different now .The only down side it was a bit like LIttle England if you get what i mean . Forgot to add the picture on my profile is us in our tt there we were right opposite the large lake which kept my teenager and oh happy with many hours fishing it had huge Sturgen in but thats another story 17

do you shop at Tesco? If so convert the points into deals tokens for Parc Asterix, we did it a couple of years ago and the kids loved it. We've also stayed at Croix du Pont and highly recommend it. Another site to consider is Campix.

Much nearer PA. There are reviews on here for both sites and both accept camping cheques in June so should make the site fees cheaper too.

scrap the camping cheques for Campix as it looks like 2 adults, 2 kids and ehu is  20.5 euros a night, good value IMO so no advantage in buying camping cheques. However will work out cheaper using camping cheques at CdP I think.

Croix du  Pont is very commercialised, full of brits but more expensive at 34 euros a night for a family of 4. It depends what you are looking for tbh. We have only been to CdP at Easter and its not busy then, should think June would be ok too. They have loads for the kids to do but it all costs (trampolines, pedaloes, go karts etc). If you want a site as a base for days out then I think Campix would be my choice but if you want to relax, stay on site mainly then CdP may suit you better.

Thanks for that - hadn't thought of cheques....but you're right, we're only going for 4 days, so will probably spend most of the time on site (young kids don't sightsee very well ).
