If you want to park up late at night with a large caravan outfit the last place you should try to get into is a motorhome aire(aire du campingcar). Space will probably be limited if it is is busy. Best bet which works for me is a supermarket car park. Drive into a town, see a sign to a supermarket(LeClerc Carrefour etc)& there will be plenty of room on the empty carpark. Generally no parking restrictions as on UK supermkt carparks.


Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

Hi Tentz.

             Not much fun, parking on a supermarket carpark, with a caravan, if you fail to notice the height barrier, unless you have a pop-top caravan that is!.

It didn't occur to me that anybody would be daft enough not to notice a height barrier....but tbf most supermkt carparks don't have them unless they are in an area where truckers tend to want to park up for the night.
