Hi there,


We have been to Limeuil a couple of times and are thinking about visiting the Soleil Plage - both in the Dordogne.  We were just wondering if anyone has visited both and if so, what your thoughts are!

We had thought about going to Limeuil this year but I think it closed a fraction early for us so we went to Le Paradis instead.

We popped over to Limeuil while staying at Soleil Plage but didn't look at the camp site but I loved SP. We extended our stay from a week to 18 days. The weather was lovely and the pool area fabulous but mossies were a problem at night for me at least.

IMO it would depend on what you intend visiting in the area.  I've not stayed at either as we like http://www.lacabanedordogne.com/ no frills pleasant site.   I just think Soleil Plage is more central to attractions.

We've done both.

Both are great campsites.

Limeuil is smaller,quieter, very family friendly and quite continental, Plage is noisier, busier and much more British.

We went to Limeuil when our kids were small (5&8), we went to Plage when they were older (9&12)- this worked very well.

If it's difficult to decide, it's because both are very good - so it doesn't matter which you choose....
