Hi can anyone tell me of a surf beach next to touring campsite in vendee or south brittany ??

There are two previous posts on the subject which might help and here  and more here

My sons surf further south at Lacanau to the south of the Gironde, where there is very good surf, and a lot of campsites with beach access.

Camping Les Dunes at Brem sur Mer has access to the beach on the atlantic coast. Went to a surf festival just up the road at Bretignolle

Hi! as stated, get yerself a little further down. We go to Montalivet every yr on the penninsular bit of the Gironde nth of Bordeaux & thats a popular surfing area with lovely beaches. If you look on't map just below Montalivet theres a little place called Le Pin Sec, very large cheap campsite & full of surfer types.

We've been to Bretignolles and walked past Les Dunes....it is about 150M from a good beach(think widemouthbay but with better surf) but the campsite doesnt look too good.

There are some good beaches between St Gille Croix deVie and Sable dollone(sp?) but some are rocky(La Sauzaire, awsome waves but VERY rocky).

Further down south ie Hosseger tends to be more in vogue but much further to travel.

Go inland a little(few miles) and get a better campsite and drive to the beach there tends to be more provision for parking than the UK.

Cote Sauvage (near Royan) every time for us, we love it there. There's a surf school there in the summer. Also the Grande Cote can have some good waves from time to time. Free parking at the beaches which is a bonus compared to the UK. Can't wait - roll on August!

Definitely better parking and free but you need to be there well before midday in order to get a space.
