Unfortunately you missed out on the real ferry bargains. There was a really good offer with Norfolk Lines back in October when a return crossing was £58.00 return for car and caravan, plus £12 per extra metre over and above 12 metres total length. They were available on any sailing on day day - but the offer didn't last long. Lots of us were able to book though, including us - we actually booked two return crossings. This price is as cheap as it's been for about ten years. Now you've joined UKCS you can look out for these bargain offers, which appear on here as soon as they are published elsewhere.
At the NEC this week it's likely that more 'Caravan Show Offers' may appear - and people will be waiting for any promotional codes to be published.
Thanks for your reply and welcome Val A. Unfortunately we weren't planning a Continental trip back in November and that was certainly a bargain with Norfolk lines! After getting back into caravanning after a twenty year absence last year, we upsized in January to the Elddis and are heading for Tuscany in June.
I must admit I have picked up some very good tips on this Forum and the camp site reviews have been helpful as well, so a big thanks to all those who take the time to submit to UKCS from this very happy member
Yes, waiting for my ACSI card to arrive and chewing over whether to buy a Camping cheques gold card, didn't know about the vacansoliel site so will have a peak, thanks again for the info.
Up until last year we had a German Shepherd that couldn't travel, otherwise I might have talked the 'boss' round a long time ago. Anyway, dog sadly passed on now and OH loving touring as much as I told her she would!
Just checked that and possibly a good deal for just a car and passengers, but the exact same time/date/boat I'm booked on with the caravan works out £19 dearer than with booking with Sea France direct on line.
