I am looking for a Campsite for one night somewhere between Brugge and Calais 24 May 2010, I have a 7 metre caravan the problem is my 6.5 metre long Transit Van that I tow with unfortunately this is causing me a problem because of the size, is anyone aware oh a site that would take my outfit in the area requested. I am returning from a vintage Machinery Exhibition in Holland and have an AM booking through Euro Tunnel, can anyone help please.

What time in the evening would you want to park up? I can think of a couple of supermarket car parks not too far off the motorway but fairly secluded. You are ok parking on them, nobody will disturb you.
Another alternative would be the Norfolkline ferry terminal carpark. Follow carferry signs off motorway(J53)then as you approach checkin follow carpark sign, plenty park overnight on there.
You would be ok in the places I suggested but if you want campsites there are some on your route. herehereherehere & there is also Camping Licorne in Dunkerque, google that for directions. All campsites mentioned are no more than 10mins off the A16 between French/belg border & Calais. whether they will take your rig, I know not but I can't see a prob on a Mon. night off season. The campsites mentioned at Ghyvelde & Bray Dunes are just minutes off the motorway, you would also be ok parking on the large car park just behind the seafront at Bray Dunes & also on't Carrefour supermkt car park.

I have already tried the site you suggest, outfit to long for their site, I ma find a Le Routier restaurant to park, if you buy a meal in those places they are usually very accommodating.
Nothing beats just turning up at campsites, I'd be suprised if you got turned away. I know the area quite well & I am struggling to think of a Le Routier resturant of type you speak of. There are resturants in the area that you could park at but they are in the secluded places you say you want to avoid. It would probabley be better to keep away from parked trucks because there are always would be illegal immigrants prowling about.
In 40 years of driving trucks I always found somewhere to park but this is the fist time with van rather than car & caravan, unfortunately if you tow with a van you are either a thief, traveller, benefit cheat or any other type of undesirable you may think of, my stock question to the people who ask the questions at the various check points I get stopped at is. Do you play golf if the answer is yes I then ask if golf is a honourable game played by honourable people the answer is usually yes to both questions, my final question is always the same, If golf is such a honourable game played by honourable people what happens to all the stolen golf clubs there in circulation?
