Yes they have a post code as such, but it covers a very large area, you can either type in the address, or using Google Maps, to find your destination then send it to your favourites via your PC.

I always use the coordinates to program my sat nav. Far more accurate due to the large areas their postcodes cover as Terry said. Coordinates are easily obtained from google maps, just go into new on the top toolbar and activate LatLong Labels and wherever your mouse hovers the latitude/longitude coordinates will appear.

Hi dawsoctor.

Got a Garmin 255W from Amazon last month, great little sat nav for £99 main reason was for France this year, like others have mentioned, best to use the gps co-ordinates than the post code, most campsites/hotels provide the long/lat info, the Garmin I got is now EOL, and I have just downloaded and added the most recent map info to it (version Europe NT Central & West 2010.30), Garmin let you do this for free within the first 60 days of locking onto the satellites, for others that have this model I noticed Halford stores are doing the Travel Pack on clearance at £20 which gives you mains adapter all countries, leather pouch and USB cable.

Are you thinking of campsite locations? If so can I suggest you visit this website and download the campsite POI's (points of interest) as it makes the job of finding campsites far less hit and miss. http://www.archiescampings.eu/eng1/

You need to be careful when you get near your destination and on minor roads on ,two occasions recently my Sat Nav has instructed me to turn into unsuitably narrow roads(with caravan). The road surface changed to dusty gravel, like a farm track, took us through a farmyard and eventually to our destination-quite scary though, very bumpy and the van looked like we had crossed the Sahara.
So now If I don`t like the look of the road I carry on and wait for her to "recalculate"

Good Lord jsparkes201148 is this the re-emergence of common sense amongst SatNav users.  Well done sir or madam :)   I only wish we could figure out how to wean the 20 somethings off following them slaveishly.....
