I am planning to travel to Vienna in April and I am not really sure of the toll requirement, for the journey I will be using a Lunar Premier with a running weight of 3,250kg and I am planning to tow a small trailer which will weigh around 300kg loaded, this is an unbraked trailer with a max weight of 750kg but will be nowhere near this, in my mind this puts me into Go Box rather than Vignette territory but I am not sure, any informed advice please?

Just go for the Vignette.

The last time I used a Go-Box IIRC it was 100euro from Suben to Vienna.

We are going to Italy this year, Austria being one of the countries we shall go through. I just had a look on Google as I am wondering about taxes in all the countries we shall go through. I knew about the Vignette, but anyway I found this site where you can order in advance. Even if you didn't want to do that it gives the prices.  When we used to get the Vignette as a coach driver, we just used to pull in at the first garage/services after we crossed the border and buy it there.

I am not sure that I can use a Vignette as the regulations applying to Vignettes mean that if you go over 3.5 tonne GVW you will need a Go Box which is much more expensive.

My real query is whether the trailer is considerd to be part of the GVW calculation, from what I understand if you are found the using a Vignette on a vehicle weighing over 3.5 tonne there are pretty draconian penalties.

I have travelled to Vienna in other vehciles but never anything as heavy as this combination, the Go Box rules also seem to apply for having more than two axles and I am trying to get some clarification re the need for a Go Box or otherwise.

Thank you, I have just followed the link - unfortunately I am going to have buy a Go Box, Austria is beginning to look a bit pricey at the moment.
