Has anyone been to the site at Lac de Liez please ?  Looks nice with views of lake but would be good to hear from anyone who has been there.

Thanks.

Yes we have and I reviewed it here link

We had a lovely week there and would go back. The pitches round the toilet block were not great but all the others were lovely.

We spent 3 nights there at the end of August 2009 with our VW campervan.

Good points:
The site is very clean and tidy. Mostly Dutch and a few English. Staff friendly & helpful. Showers etc good & clean. Pools excellent. 10 min walk down to lakeside beach. Brasserie by lake with views and pretty good food. Nearby Langres very interesting. Little road train goes from the Tourist Info office with recorded commentary in English. Some nice bistros in town.

Bad points:
Shop v limited and expensive, especially for wine. No other shops within a couple of miles. Not a great deal to do in the area once you've done Langres and the lake.

Would go back, but only for a stop-over.

We stayed there last year for three nights.  Nice clean site, the nearby walled town of Langres is lovely.  Had an evening walk along the canal which runs in the valley bottom.  Ideal stop off on way south.  Note Google Earth views of site are out of date, do not show new receiption and swimming pool complex at NW end of site.

Regards Bob

We stayed there once overnight and it was very wet! It has a nice location overlooking the lake. Access to some of the pitches can be a bit difficult without a mover. Would use it it again but not on our must return list!

We had 3 nights there in early June 2008. It was very busy when we got there and by 7pm they had a sign up saying 'Full unless Booked'. Some of the pitches where quite muddy, but they had had a lot of rain that year (other sites had the same problem).

Some pitches quite small and as David says would be difficult to get on without a mover.

Quite a climb back to the site from the lake, lots of stairs. The outdoor pool was closed but the indoor one was great. Would we go back ? probably not.

Yes I agree with latest posts. We stayed a week (prebooked) but would have left earlier! Some positives; Langres very interesting, also canal good for cycling, pool is lovely with views of lake, lake good for boats/canoe. Negative; lake is very steep climb or walk down road (not next door)site is miles from anywhere interesting to walk round locally, pitches muddy, lake views all taken by permeanent units. Overall, would not return.

We use the lovely little municipal in Humes about 5 miles north of Langres. We have stopped over here many times and the lady just arrives early evening to collect your euros, was about 11 for 3 adults last time. The site is surrounding by little streams you drive over a bridge to get in and it has a tiny playground in one corner, very basic but a great stop over. Toilets and showers are fine.

We stayed three or four days but I don't think we'd return. I didn't think the staff were very friendly and I thought the pitches were a bit small. Langres was nice but there didn't seem a lot else in the area.
