.................forgot to add Val, if you are in Calella de Palafrugell on the 1st Saturday of July (or the last Saturday in June, can't remember which) there is a lovely festival called Havaneres (sp?). It is lovely come midnight when the hundreds of people on the beaches wave their white hankies - brings a tear to the eye. All the Spanish are on the beaches with picnics and their bowls of cremat from late afternoon even though the event doesn't start till well after dark. It is a lovely event and means a lot to the locals (it's about fishermen).

hmph - have to say 6-8wks very jealous - I'd go anywhere!! However, having already visited Nice, Monaco etc I'd be very drawn to Spain you could see so much with that much time on your hands whereas France is much more accessible for shorter holidays.
There is a reason why we can't do both - although we'd like to - but we've more or less decided on Provence now, after chewing it over for a few days! Final decision will be made on Sunday.
Thanks to everyone for their contributions.

Provence will be lovely then. No crowds and warm weather.I'd always be drawn to France rather than Spain but don't honestly know why! You'll have a wonderful relaxed time and with no rushing about you can really get to know every little village that takes your fancy. How long will you be over there for? Will you get over to Le neptune ? We'll be there at end of June on your recommendation!!
We're hoping to start our holiday at Neptune - but much earlier in the season. We may well be back at the end of the holiday too, especially if we decide on Spain and Neptune is then on our way back home!

Hi ive actually worked in Calella de Palafrugell on camping La Siesta i remember the fiesta too totally amazing !! As for France or Spain personally i would choose Spain as i find the Spaniards far more welcoming than there French counterparts having experienced working in both countries on campsites but it basically depends on each different site to what type of clientel you get !! No matter which you choose im sure you will have an amazing time have fun !!
