You can use this website to look at historical weather records going back to the 70's. Just look up the nearest large city to your destination, then click on Historical Weather Records, click on the month you're planning your holiday, and you can see all the temperatures, and amounts of rain, etc., during that month. Click through the years, and you'll soon get an idea of what the weather is like overall. A few quick clicks shows that about half the days in May had rain, and about half the days in June, certainly over the last two years. Take an umbrella and raincoats!
The trouble is that with an individual experience, someone can have really bad weather, but that may not be the 'norm'. For instance, we were in Spain in December, and had very heavy snow, but it hadn't snowed in the area we were visiting for about forty years. Some parts of Spain had snow for the first time in living memory.
