I am a regular user of this website for finding campsites in the UK but this year we are going to branch out and go to France for a camping holiday! I have spent a lot of time over the years touring France and doing driving holidays through France and we have decided to drive to Poitiers (for a bit of reminiscing!) and stay there for a couple of days and then drive down to the Atlantic Coast in the Aquitaine region. We have no definite area that we want to stay on the Atlantic Coast and am hoping that people might be able to recommend places they have stayed or offer any advice?
I've been looking around on the net but a lot of the places that have been coming up seem to be holiday parks rather than just a campsite. We like more basic campsites- showers and toilets and a field to camp in.... not adverse to a few more amenities but we don't want a holiday park as such. I hope that this makes sense!!! We will be going from around 26 June for 10 - 14 days.
If anyone has any tips or recommendations, they would be very grateful received!
