Has anyone used this card from Les Castels group of campsites? http://www.camping-castels.co.uk/the-castellissime-card-id555.html

Is is a good deal?  I can't seem to equate the 1euro spent = 1 euro earned with the 15% discount deal.  One seems much better than the other.  Can anyone work out if its worth 10 euro?

Points are awarded based on the season of your stay, ie high season at 2 % Low season at 15% . So a  € 100 stay in high season gains 2 points, and in low season 15 points. Your points can then be "encashed " against your next stay at a Castels site at the rate of 1 point  = € 1 . In effect you are getting a variable rate discount between 2 %  to 15 % depending on the season of your stay. Some people might think it useful to have an early holiday, gain points/euros at 15% and spend them in a 2 nd high season holiday as euros. Typically French complexity, because in low season, the prices are low anyway,  so eg a pitch at € 20  in low season earns € 3 euros to spend against the same pitch at € 40 say in high season. ie 7.5 % discount in high season. Simple is n't it?

Some Castels sites are not fully in favour of the scheme, ( too complex) , but if you present your card, we got 10 % discount on some in July last year.

Up to you whether you think it worth the €10

We have got one for the first time this year. As we always book ahead for travel in August, in the past we have usually been hit for booking/admin fees of 5-15 euros. Using the card no deposit or booking fee is required. Therefore we only need to save 1 or 2 booking fees to be in profit regardless of any discounts we may get. We typically use 2 or 3 Castels sites per holiday so we should be quids in. Plus the comfort of not having to use credit cards online to pay the deposit as you just need your loyalty card number

thank you both. Think I get it now .  We go low season and love two of the les castels sites (one on the way south and again on the way home) so even getting 10% discount for using the card would pay for itself then.   Plan to get the ACSI card too tho for the 'budget' part of the holiday.
