Hi All,

We've booked a weeks stay at La Garangeoire, St-Julien-Des-Landes on the Vendee at the end of June/ beginning of July on a family recommendation.

I was wondering if people could let us know of places to visit/ eat/ drink/ see/ the best beaches nearby and basically any helpful information regarding the area so that we can make sure we have a great holiday :) Oh, it's just two adults, no children, so more adult related activities would be best- anyone know any good wine/ cheese tasting?!!

For a night out, go to Les Sables-d'Olonne and take the water taxi across the harbour to La Chaume. Watch the huge ships come into the harbour while you sit at the waterfront restraunts, and bars. When we were there, people put all these wooden table top games the whole way up the road, and you could try all the different types of games as you strolled along. Also, watch on the notice board at the reception, the lady who lives in the Chateau gives guided tours of their land and home, there is also wine tasting nights.

We have been to Garangeoire twice now, couldn't get in this year as we left it too late and are instead at Clarys Plage - Garangeoire is fabulous in itself and the smaller bar is mainly frequented by adults in the evening, but there is so much to do nearby too, the Market on Sunday at St Gilles Croix de Vie is wonderful. And there are some lovely little restaurants here too. Have a great time!!
