Hiya all,

any suggestions?first trip to europe hubbys first time out of uk we have a landrover series 3 so do not want to go really far south i know its hotter but its also alot more in juice lol.

however saying that the car should be better than the focus estate that was so uncomfy when filled with all camping gear.we can all sit in front and stuff in back and on roof.

questions are what tent do i take?

we have an outwell georgia l and canopy or we have a little gelert cotton it is only a 3 man tent we can not stand in it and the space at front just fits our crate with kitchen utensil etc but it is very nice and comfy stell poles never let us down.we have the landrover though it has a canopy and a drop down bit for stove etc .im thinking canvas will be cooler and easier less hassle but georgia will be alot more spacious.

question 2 were do we go?

while france is the normal first choice the sites im looking at are all not really what i have in mind.

a pool would be nice for my 5 year old son but bars play rooms etc im not into that we normally go the lakes and spend our days up the mountains and nights drinking beer son is allways very happy as long as there are a few friends to be made.

i do like the sound of belgium and hear the lower part is very green and lush what do you guys think any suggestions?

wow long sorry dont ask for much lol.

x

It really depends on where you will be coming from and where you will be crossing. France has camping sites to suit all tastes. Many of the municipal ones are next to the local pool.   Normandy is lovely if you don't ant to go too far and there are plenty of things to see. Just east of Calais in Belgium there are a few sites on the coast that look pretty good. Brittany has loads of sites some have all the bells and whistles and some are basic. We will be going to Blankenberge in August and will stay in one of the sites that has beach access. It is a nice town plenty to do. There is also the Floreal Club which has camping that may be more to your liking. We haven't camped with them but we have stayed in the apartments run by the same people. Very nice.

As for which tent I would go for the comfiest. It does rain in France and Belgium.

Hope you find a place. .

France is a much more relaxed country to drive in and has better roads. Having said that the Ardennes in Belgium is very attractive but the weather is changable. Brugge and Gent also have campsites nearby.
