Thinking of taking our own camping gear over to France this summer and OH has a yearning to go back to an area where he spent some time a few years ago which is Pont St Espirit. Looks like the nearest area to that with any decent campsites is likely to be St Martin d'ardeche . So just wondering if anyone can advise on any campsites in that sort of area that might suit. Ideally would want something on the river with a decent pool, don't need loads of entertainment but a ping pong table/pool table would help keep the teenagers happy. Nice pitches with some shade and OH ideally would like some privacy between pitches (you know hedges/trees etc).

I know it's asking a lot but if anyone can recommend antwhere that might fit the bill it would be much appreciated.

           It was our first time to the Southern Ardeche last year, and we liked it so much we are going back to the same site, and same pitch this year (gallery), also this year I will be having a look round at some other sites especialy "Le Saint Michelet Camping" which is about 40 miles South of the site we are at, as we are looking to have a caravan stored all year round on site.

Thank you Andy, either of the sites you mention would have been perfect (exactly the sort of thing we are looking for) but we appear to have left it too late as niether are available for the dates we need. 

If anyone has any more suggestions that we could try I would be grateful.

        Domaine was fully booked all the time we were there last year, with the large "COMPLET" sign in place at the gates, fact is we booked in October last year for this year, and it was soon after that that they were fully booked for peak, as blueexpo97 tried to get booked on for the summer, before the end of last year, Domaine only has around 40 touring pitches so I guess this is the main reason, last year was worse though because the "Tour de France" cycle race, ended in Aubenas for stage 17, what a day that was, with an English rider winning the stage that day!.

Just had a thought, we visited a campsite not far from Vallon Pont de Arc, it was not full at the time we visited, we were looking for somewere to store a caravan, without giving a full report, from what we saw the site was fine, and we would be happy to stay there, it is called "Le Chiti Franoi" and is owned and run by a very nice English couple.
