Hello. Will be travelling from Roscoff down to the Vendee in July, with three nippers in the vehicle. I think we will have enough time to meander about a bit, so does anyone know of any nice towns or villages to stop en route for what will undoubtedly be several comfort breaks?
Also, any advice on cheap petrol en route would be appreciated!
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Any town on your way will be cheaper than a motorway stop. All supermarkets are signposted & your cheapest petrol will be at supermarket pumps. Many of the pumps are unmanned automatic pumps but most will now take UK credi/debit cards. You can also buy sandwiches & other stuff for a picnic from the supermkt & most towns have a square with free parking.
We stayed at Carnac a couple of years ago in June and thought we would take a look at some sites near La Rochelle,so drove the scenic route over the St Nazere bridge (which is FREE) then Pornic not a quick route but in my view more relaxing than motorway so if your not in a hurry i can recommend this way and plenty of places to stop.
