I am trying to find a pleasant campsite that will accept bookings for less than 7 days in the first week in August (2-5th) while we make our way back from Le marche en route for France and home
I liked the look of Punta di Crabbia on Lago D'Orta, but it seems they only accept min 7 nights in the high season :(
Camping Panoramico Fiesole outside Florence looks great, but they don't accept bookings at all! Is this risky or is it a fair bet I'll get a pitch?
I would like to stay there for 2 or 3 nights and then move on to *somewhere* on the way to Mont Blanc to break up the journey to our final overnighter in Troyes, France.
Any suggestions and experiences very welcome!

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Often sites near major tourist attractions have a regular turnover of pitches with many only staying a few days so with the Florence site you might be in luck. There is another site nearer to the centre of Florence.
WE stayed at Punta di Crabbia on Orta in the end, they found a place for us without booking, but we did have to move the second day though - very pleasant location with a beach lake to swim in
